A very rare antique (circa early 1800s) French stoneware jug from the Brittany region of France. Hand-turned and fired with a matte finish (not glazed). These jugs were used on the farms in this region. Two handles for easy pouring of farm milk or wine. Superb patina and remarkably well-preserved condition, with just some minor chipping along the base. No cracks! Heavy! Measures 11 inches tall (excluding cork); base diameter of 5.75 inches; at widest is about 9 inches in diameter. A wonderful piece for the collector or Francophile! We love this piece of stoneware in its rare neutral color, perfect for any French Country decor. Not a reproduction! Shipped insured within the USA, $30.
